Professor Sharon Parker has been invited to speak at Deloitte Perth’s upcoming invitation only event entitled: “Understanding mental health impacts of FIFO work arrangements in WA” on the 26th of March, 2015.
Professor Sharon Parker is a leading UWA researcher in the field of work design. Her research focuses on understanding how to design work that is ‘good for people’ (their mental and physical health) and ‘good for business’ (performance, productivity and innovation).
This event will showcase many diverse perspectives of the topic, intended to challenge current thinking. The different perspectives will include:
- An academic perspective
- A personal perspective
- A government perspective
- A business perspective
- A Deloitte safety and data perspective.
The increased focus, and recent parliamentary and public spotlight on FIFO mental health, indicates a pressing need to bring together expertise and experience from a range of areas in order to better understand the complex relationship between mental health and FIFO work arrangements.
